The Czech postal code, known locally as PSČ (Poštovní směrovací číslo, literally "postal routing number"), is a five-digit numeric code used to direct mail throughout the Czech Republic. It is administered by the national postal operator, Česká pošta, and is typically written as two groups of digits separated by a space, in the format 'XXX XX' (for example, 110 00).
The first digit generally corresponds to a broad geographic sorting region, with lower numbers concentrated around Prague and progressively higher numbers extending toward the eastern parts of the country. Prague itself uses a distinctive set of codes for its numbered postal districts, often ending in double zeros for central delivery points, while smaller towns and villages typically share a single code with surrounding post offices.
The database currently contains exactly 2,670 postal codes for the Czech Republic.
